Discovery Toys

Okay, so this is my sales pitch! I found some new toys that I (and my boys) just love, and the best part, is that they also learn so much from these toys. They are GREAT! And so, yes, I am now selling them. If you are interested in buying some toys, coming over to my house to try some of them out, or you want to host a party let me know!!!

Blog Header

So, I have had a lot of people ask about my blog headers. I do make them myself, they are just simple, but do add just a bit of fun & flare to your blog. Let me know if any of you are interested in a custom header, and I'll see what I can do!

Not having a good day

A couple weeks ago I had to take Ethan to the doctors office, just not feeling well. And lets just say he ended up feeling a lot worse, I am sure. We ended up having to get his blood drawn, and I swear we were sitting there for over 20 minutes, me holding him down and them trying so hard to get just 2 vials of blood. Lets just say it was not the best experience for the poor little guy.

Cakes...Cakes...Cakes....

I am really enjoying my cake class. Here is the latest and greatest (greatest...questionable?). I know, I know, you are all wondering when you can start putting in orders for wedding and birthday cakes! Okay, I might be getting a little ahead of myself, but I am having a blast, and hey who knows may be you'll see my on the next episode of Ace of Cakes!

This is one of the "favorite" toys of Brock's. He gets pretty creative when he is putting them all together. He has 2 big and 2 small potato heads, so he makes mom, dad, Brock and Ethan. And for some reason, I always get stuck with the monkey nose! He did a great job with Ethan's, the purple shoes and elephant nose, and don't you just love the glasses and mustache for Brock?

Don't Laugh

Okay everyone, this is my first cake. I am still trying to work on my frosting consistency, so the chocolate frosting did not set up very well. Okay, I need more practice, okay, okay, I need a lot of practice. At least the stars and dots were pretty cute!?

Best Buds

Brock and Ethan were watching a movie together. It was the cutest thing ever. It was a movie with farm animals, so Brock was telling Ethan what the names of all the animals were. Ethan just watched and listened. So cute. Brock is so good with Ethan. They are best buds!

Go REAL!!!

We took the boys to the REAL Playoff game against Chivas! It was lots of fun. It was a really exciting game with a win for REAL, the winning and only goal scored in the 90th minute! GO REAL!

Canning!

So I have been tapping into the canning world. I canned Strawberry jam, well lets clearify, in some batches strawberry syrup (but still super yummy on pancakes!) I also canned pears! I know, I know, I am becoming very daring!

Snow - Snow - Snow

Today was our first big snow storm! The boys and I bundled up, went outside to scrape the driveway and play in the snow. This was Ethans first encounter with snow, and at first was not too sure about it, but then loved it. We had so much fun!

My New Thing~

So, I started a new class last night and I am going to love it! Cake Decorating! It is going to be so fun. I am not sure how good I will be at it. But it will give me another creative outlet during those nights with no husband during busy season. So, all you who like cake, here is your chance to get some free practice cake! Okay, so this is not a picture of a cake I made, but there will be pictures coming soon of my new talent. (hopefully they will be post worthy!)

Mommy and the BOYS! I am so blessed to have 2 wonderful boys. They are so fun. Ethan is 8 1/2 months and Brock is now 2 1/2 yrs old. They are getting so big and growing up so fast, I am realizing that I really have to take advantage of this time that I have with them. Even though at times it may get super crazy, I am cherishing every minute with them!!! I love my BOYS!

Brock is our little adventurer. He LOVES the outdoors. This is one of his FAVORITE places to go, Grandma and Grandpa Ploeger's cabin. He loves going on walks and playing with his cousin Alyssa and Cassidy. He enjoys sight seeing for deer, chipmunks, horses, cows, rocks and sticks. While at the cabin he also LOVES riding on the "18 wheelers" (4-wheelers).

RUN! RUN! RUN! Tyler ran in the WASATCH BACK with a bunch of his buddies from work. He did a great job! I was super proud of him! He had one of the hardest legs in the race which was 8 mile downhill on his 2nd leg and his last leg was some unexpected uphills to finish off his portion of the 19 miles. GREAT JOB DADDY!!!!

Not used to this!!! Feeding Ethan is not exactly simple. Which was completely different from Brock. So needless to say we go through tons of bibs and lots of patients.

Brock loves his fruits and vegetables. He will eat pretty much any fruit or vegetable we give him, mushrooms, peppers, plums, cherries, just to name a few. The only problem we have (other than intersting diaper changes) is keeping him out of the garden and from picking the green tomatoes and strawberries.

Summertime!

Summer presents some exciting times for the boys. The ability to go swimming, run outside, and go to soccer games is really quite enjoyable and keeps them busy!! We have been doing the family reunion thing recently, one of which was in Monroe, Utah (Johnson side) and one at the Randy Ploeger cabin (Ploeger side, obviously). Here are some pictures of Brock as a cowboy. What a cute little guy! He really got worried seeing Jenny on the mechanical bull. In fact he screamed like a girl the whole time. It is great to know he cares.

Ethan is growing up really fast. He is already starting to get up on all fours, which is quite surprising, considering he is a wee bit heavy for his age (6 months). Okay, maybe he is WAY heavy and big for his age, but...what do you expect. He is the happiest guy after his naps and with a smile like that, you can't help but love this little guy with all your heart. He is going to be another lady killer! Ethan still is not the greatest sleeper and screams at random times still for no good reason, but that is Ethan and hopefully he will grow out of that, and soon.

Brock is his typical self, which is a bundle of laughs, ALL THE TIME! He is becoming a little parrot, which is both hilarious and worrisome. Brock loves to dance, run around, play with his cars, pick green tomatoes from the garden, and hang out with either mom or dad, amongst other things. He is increasingly more playful with Ethan, which is great and can get Ethan to smile and laugh on command. He is learning his colors and tells you the color of the goods in Ethan's diapers. Yucky! Truely great brotherly love thus far between the boys. Brock loves to read the comics and has a favorite comic already that he reads and says..."I don't get it" after he reads it. Hilarious! Brock went to a BYU soccer game last night and all the way home we heard him chanting...B-Y-U. Needless to say, we left him on the side of the road in American Fork. Let us know if you see him. It definately hard for Tyler to hear, but quite a funny story. He has been known to say..."You have got to be kidding me" and "Why I otta". Where he picked those up, who knows, but perhaps JENNY would know. Jenny is a wonderful mom and spends so much time teaching the boys. She truely is a great example.

Brock wasn't too into the fireworks for some reason. Perhaps it was being up late, perhaps it was the flashing lights or the loud noises, but he didn't really enjoy them...much to Tyler's dismay. We did have a good time with Tiffany and Nate, who came over to spend the evening with us. They are Brock's best friends! Here are a few pictures from the 4th.
We have enjoyed spending time with all the family and friends during this month. Please keep in touch and let's do it more often.

Spring!

For those who give me (Tyler) a hard time for not updating the blog, this has been a work in progress trying to help Jenny find time to update this.

For an update...Ethan is enormous and Brock continues to be a bundle of joy. You can tell by the part of the newspaper that he reads, that most of his time he focuses on FOOD.

Ethan is starting to rollover already and is finally over the random baby crying stage. At Ethan's last doctors appointment, he topped the charts in both height and weight, being in the 90+ percentile on both. We thought Brock was big! Brock also is in the 90+ percentile range for height, but has slowed a bit on his weight, thanks to our treadmill workouts and yoga exercises. :)

Brock's recent discovery is that he can climb out of his crib. Wahoo!...for him, but yet to be seen how we try to deal with this new discovery. I think we should just put a big airmatress beside his crib, so he can have a jungle gym...eventually he will go to sleep...right?

Brock has a new Harley Davidson big wheel, but isn't quite big enough to reach the pedals. Perhaps we should try the Indiana Jones technique of blocks strapped to his shoes.

Jenny is doing well. She finished the half marathon after only 9 weeks of preparation (okay, really only 3, since you can't do anything really for 6 weeks). It was a test of patience and endurance, but we finished in record time. :)

Tyler is past his busy season, hooray! The real good thing is that no more CPA exam to worry about. Now, comes the summer yard work, planting the garden, and Brock's attempt at assisting in these activities.

Brock loves to be involved. Brock helps with the laundry by filling his wheelbarrow and putting his clothes away. Somehow you have to keep the guy manly, thus....his wheelbarrow. He also picks what he wants to have for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. It is not uncommon for Brock to wake up in the morning and say .... "strawberry pancakes", or "oatmeal", or "Cheerios and Kix". He has been known to throw out the baguette or other exotic food choices. Lucky for us...he will try about anything.
