Spring!

For those who give me (Tyler) a hard time for not updating the blog, this has been a work in progress trying to help Jenny find time to update this.

For an update...Ethan is enormous and Brock continues to be a bundle of joy. You can tell by the part of the newspaper that he reads, that most of his time he focuses on FOOD.

Ethan is starting to rollover already and is finally over the random baby crying stage. At Ethan's last doctors appointment, he topped the charts in both height and weight, being in the 90+ percentile on both. We thought Brock was big! Brock also is in the 90+ percentile range for height, but has slowed a bit on his weight, thanks to our treadmill workouts and yoga exercises. :)

Brock's recent discovery is that he can climb out of his crib. Wahoo!...for him, but yet to be seen how we try to deal with this new discovery. I think we should just put a big airmatress beside his crib, so he can have a jungle gym...eventually he will go to sleep...right?

Brock has a new Harley Davidson big wheel, but isn't quite big enough to reach the pedals. Perhaps we should try the Indiana Jones technique of blocks strapped to his shoes.

Jenny is doing well. She finished the half marathon after only 9 weeks of preparation (okay, really only 3, since you can't do anything really for 6 weeks). It was a test of patience and endurance, but we finished in record time. :)

Tyler is past his busy season, hooray! The real good thing is that no more CPA exam to worry about. Now, comes the summer yard work, planting the garden, and Brock's attempt at assisting in these activities.

Brock loves to be involved. Brock helps with the laundry by filling his wheelbarrow and putting his clothes away. Somehow you have to keep the guy manly, thus....his wheelbarrow. He also picks what he wants to have for breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner. It is not uncommon for Brock to wake up in the morning and say .... "strawberry pancakes", or "oatmeal", or "Cheerios and Kix". He has been known to throw out the baguette or other exotic food choices. Lucky for us...he will try about anything.

Brock loves his new tools. It was so funny to see him know exacly what to use and how to use them. He loves to help his daddy in the basement and helps him make sure all the walls are sturdy.

Brock Stretching!

Halloween

Brock's first real Halloween experience was a blast. Jenny carved a pumpkin with Brock, where he was able to reach in and grab the slimy goo that is inside. His funny little faces were in full swing on this occasion. Brock was amazed by the lighter and a bit fearful of fire at the same time. It was actually pleasant to see a bit of reluctancy from him with something! We are also presently still in the process of trying to finish part of the basement. It is a fun project for us, but adds a bit to the already busy family and work life. Here are a few pictures as well from the cabin trip that occurred in the Fall of this year. Brock is starting to dance and stretch quite well. It appears that Jenny teaches Brock all sorts of things.

Fall Fun

Brock continues to get into everything. He is also curious about the littlest things and the largest things. His hair has been growing like crazy. We thought for Halloween, that we would dress up to match his hair. Jenny made his costume to match the one's we already had. Fun times, just watch him close!

October is here!

October is here already. What that means for the Ploeger family is lots of yardwork and preparation for the winter season. Fertilizing the lawn, turning off the sprinklers, staining the deck, and cleaning out the garden and flower beds. There is always something to do around that house. Brock loves to get his little pail and shovel and scoop the dirt...and if daddy is walking in the flowerbed, you better believe that Brock will be walking in the flower bed as well. He watches and copies everything you do. After a long days work in the yard, we wind down by taking a short nap on the couch.

Sunday, September 30th came, which was Brock's first day of Nursery. Happy day for mom and dad. Mom took Brock up to the Nursery and said bye. Brock also said bye in return and wasn't the wiser.

Brock continues to grow and grow, and with that comes more and more interest in everything around him. He now gets into every drawer and cupboard around, throws the contents out and then moves onto the next open drawer or cupboard to play in. After a long day of playing, he nestles down with his blanket to relax. He LOVES his blanket, but we are careful to only give it to him when he wants to go to sleep, so he knows what to expect. The great thing is that when he gets his blanket he goes right to sleep, don't pass go, don't collect 200 dollars.

Jenny is doing well. The doctor says she is definately measuring large, which is expected, due to the size of Brock as a newborn. We are presently starting the design phase of the basement, in hopes of getting a room finished to move the office, prior to the new baby being born. Exciting times in our home!

Growing Up!

Brock is really quite the hilarious little guy. When we transform the transformer, we make noises. Apparently Brock was catching onto this and now things that you have to make sounds when you transform.

We bought Brock a new hat for the Fall. It is pretty fashionable. We will have to see if it is acceptable to uncle Paul. The hat is a 4T! Brock is only 18 months, but I guess he has a HUGE head.

New and improved

This is the new and improved tool to keep in touch with the Tyler and Jenny and Brock family affairs. Hopefully we do a better job keeping this up to date.
